Nimble Thief Letter & Quiz Answers

· 5 min read

For the Nimble Thief questions, choose the answers about stealing a patron's jade belt, a butterfly hairpin and the child's fate being unknown because the letter does not say. The person asking is the Gentle Thief, after you deliver his brother's Blood Letter in the Honor Among Thieves quest. Answering the sequence correctly rewards the Silent Wrap accessory.

Pick up the Blood Letter first

Start from the Outlaw Trap Bell in the Crimson Forest and take the right-hand path that curves uphill. The Nimble Thief's body is at the top, where the collected route places the letter. Picking it up adds the delivery objective, so searching for the quiz NPC before obtaining the letter skips the quest's starting step.

Read the letter instead of treating it as an anonymous key item. Its personal details are what the later questions test, and they explain why the third answer is an admission of missing information rather than a confident guess. The quest is about carrying the brother's account accurately, not finding an additional child elsewhere before returning.

Reach the Gentle Thief in the camp

Return to the split near Outlaw Trap and continue along the other route through the Jing Ye encounter. The collected walkthrough describes a mounted stage followed by a shielded stage, with Dread Axe recommended for the latter defense. After the fight, continue to the Thieves' Camp and find the Gentle Thief inside a cabin.

Deliver the Blood Letter to begin the questions. Do not confuse the Nimble Thief named in the keyword with the living brother conducting the conversation. This name distinction also explains why guides titled Gentle Thief answers and searches for Nimble Thief questions refer to the same quest sequence.

Use the three details in order

For the childhood exploit, select the option describing a patron's jade belt. For the hairpin, select the butterfly design. For the child, select the response that the letter did not explain what happened and the fate remains unknown.

The source presents those as the correct selections rather than a sequence of combat actions or items to equip. Read the wording on your screen, especially if the game language or punctuation differs from the guide. This wiki does not invent a guaranteed recovery method for a previously completed incorrect answer sequence because the collected material does not establish one.

Collect and evaluate Silent Wrap

Silent Wrap supports stealth by reducing the noise associated with footsteps and assassinations. It is a utility choice for approaching encounters, not a direct replacement for a boss-defense accessory. Complete the conversation and confirm the reward before leaving the camp or advancing the story past the early settlement change.

Keep the letter and the answers in the same quest

The letter found along the uphill route near Outlaw's Trap is the starting point for the exchange, not a generic answer sheet for every thief-related conversation. Deliver it to Gentle Thief and use the jade belt, butterfly and unknown-child answers in that context. If you are speaking to a different character or resolving another errand, stop and check the quest rather than applying the answers indiscriminately.

Collect the Silent Wrap reward while the early camp interactions remain available. This places the letter delivery alongside Yu'er's work and Quick Hand Zhang's rescue in your pre-Bai-Chilian review. Keeping those errands together reduces backtracking without implying that their individual objectives or rewards are interchangeable.

Check the early quest deadline

Defeating Bai Chilian changes the early settlements and prevents further friendly interactions with affected NPCs in the Outpost and Thieves' Camp. This is why early errands should be resolved before finishing that part of the Crimson Forest story. Returning to the map afterward does not restore the earlier version of those conversations.

Yu'er's tasks are particularly easy to postpone because their ingredients and patients are spread across optional paths. Finish the work you can complete in Weeping Creek Valley and the Crimson Forest, and return to collect the rewards before crossing the story threshold. Quick Hand Zhang's rescue and the letter delivery for Honor Among Thieves belong on the same practical review of local business.

This deadline does not mean that every collectible in both regions disappears. Tools obtained later deliberately reopen routes in earlier areas, and some rewards remain available through backtracking. Separate a missed NPC interaction from a locked exploration passage so you know whether to complete a quest now or simply record a place to revisit.

Choose accessories before spending polishing materials

Accessory polishing becomes available after meeting Jewel in the Village of Lu. Once unlocked, it can be accessed through Bells, making it part of your regular preparation rather than a reason to revisit her shop before every fight. Polishing consumes Remnant Dust and the appropriate crystal, and the preview tells you how the particular accessory changes.

The useful question is whether the effect helps your current loadout often enough to justify an equipped slot. A bonus tied to one weapon category is less consistent if you keep switching into a different category, while a resistance accessory can be excellent for one encounter without becoming a permanent choice. Read the conditions as carefully as the displayed percentage.

Accessory slots expand through ability upgrades, but offensive, defensive and support equipment still have category limits. Do not copy a full late-game loadout onto a character that has not unlocked the required capacity. More importantly, do not assume that polishing can be refunded like ordinary weapon enhancement; the collected accessory guidance warns that the material investment is permanent.

Return when your traversal tools change

A blocked route often means you need a later tool, not that you overlooked a nearby key. The Feather Bow can interact with certain hanging objects, Flaming Mane clears damp brambles, and the Tiger Cannon breaks the rock barriers associated with it. Their discovery order is part of the exploration structure, so an early map can legitimately contain a passage you cannot open yet.

The Illusory Pipa is another important example because its repair spans multiple regions. Once restored, it clears specified mist and wind barriers and opens access to further exploration, including the Mountain of Imprisonment route. Keep the name of the obstacle and the nearest Bell together in your notes so you can return with the right tool.

Opening a physical route and preserving a quest are separate concerns. A new Phantom Edge may let you revisit a chest later, while a story event can already have changed the NPC who would have given you a reward. Before advancing a major quest, check the journal and the relevant missable conditions instead of assuming that fast travel makes every unfinished objective recoverable.
